Terra Alma: Turning Spaces Into Places
Edie Weintraub, founder of terra alma, joins the Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio podcast to share an overview of the woman-owned advisory firm. On the All About Real Estate segment, Weintraub chats with host Carol Morgan about the top trends in commercial real estate.
Encouraged and inspired by her father, who worked in land and development, Weintraub has worked within the real estate industry for over 15 years. Weintraub began her career in the residential side of the industry, where she scouted several investors, later shifting to commercial real estate.
After working for many boutique and global real estate firms, Weintraub realized that she admired the entrepreneurial spirit of small businesses. Weintraub’s passion for helping local restaurants, retailers and bakeries thrive led to the start of terra alma, a boutique real estate advisory firm. With an all-female, four-member team, terra alma serves local and small businesses as if they are large, national clients.
Weintraub said, “I was inspired by The Little Mermaid! I want to be where the people are – laughing, dancing, gathering and having a good time.”
terra alma focuses primarily on downtown, walkable communities that exude connectivity and friendship. With metro Atlanta boasting many small rail stop communities that are beginning to grow and flourish, the terra alma team enjoys playing a part in bringing those historic spaces back to life.
Weintraub said, “In an instance such as downtown Norcross, those restaurants have been there for over 20 years…they are not big national brands, but they are tried and true.”
In addition to working with intimate communities across metro Atlanta, terra alma partners with food hall operators to build incredible spaces for residents and visitors to connect, including Chattahoochee Food Works, Chamblee Tap & Market, Halidom Eatery and Politian Row at Colony Square. Weintraub and her team provide advisory services such as location scouting, site tours, vendor selection and detailed plans to each food hall client.
Weintraub said, “It was very satisfying to work with small business owners to help launch their path!”
Food halls have become a popular destination for people seeking a place to gather and connect with others. Featuring an abundance of dining opportunities, food halls allow everyone in the family to satisfy their cravings while still coming together to enjoy one another.
Weintraub said, “I love working on food halls because it brings together multiple cultures while allowing families to gather in an environment that is warm and welcoming.”
